Activists of the Democratic Youth Federation of India took out a protest rally towards the railway station here to press their demands, including railway zone and Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. Leading the protest, DYFI State President K.Ramanna demanded filling of over 7.18 lakh vacancies in the railways and stop re-employment of retired employees on contract basis.

Slogans

They raised slogans against the BJP for not providing jobs to unemployed youth as per its poll manifesto and instead of asking the youth to sell 'pakodas'.

Mild tension prevailed for sometime when activists, including its district president K.F. Babu and secretary P.Kiran offered stiff resistance to the police who had a tough time in seizing away the effigy symbolising the Union government when it was about to be set ablaze as a part of the protest.
