Polytechnic Gazetted Officers JAC to boycott EAMCET and ICET counselling

A feeling of relief and contentment over the peaceful and successful conduct of the APNGOs meeting at Hyderabad was palpable at the various Samaikyandhra agitation camps in Tirupati on Sunday. the Vinayaka Chavithi festival fervour and the sudden downpour lasting an hour made the camps appear thin.

Though agitations and dharnas were not seen, the pre-programmed events like relay hunger strike, ‘Vanta Vaarpu’ etc. went on as usual. At the APSRTC bus station complex, the Government Officers’ (Tirupati division) JAC chairman Y.Ramachandra Reddy (Tirupati RDO) participated to express solidarity to the agitating groups.

At the YSR Congress dharna camp at TUDA Circle, MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy conducted ‘Vanta Vaarpu’ programme, where he took part in the cooking and serving food to the party sympathizers and the agitating members. Similarly, Muslim minorities sat on hunger strike at the Telugu Desam Party’s agitation camp at the Krishnapuram Thana junction.

Meanwhile, industrialists having units at the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation’s (APIIC) estate staged a demonstration on Renigunta road. Former Minister G. Muddu Krishnama Naidu said industrial progress would take a hit with bifurcation.Members of Samaikhyandhra Polytechnic Gazetted Officers JAC, who are on strike since last Friday, have termed as ‘misleading’ the statement in a section of the media that they would ‘go on strike only from Sep 12’. JAC central Chairman N. Raghava Reddy and district in-charge S. Rama Rao pointed out that the officers of Seemandhra region had already issued a notice to the Technical Education commissioner to this effect, intimating the decision to boycott EAMCET and ICET counseling.
