Amid devotional fervour, ‘Sudarsana Lakshmi Narasimha Mahayagnam’ was performed at the Anantha Kodandarama Swamy temple here on Sunday to mark the auspicious Dhanurmasam.

Pancharatra Agama tradition

Vedic scholars from Chinnajeeyar Vedic Patasala performed the elaborate rituals as per the Pancharatra Agama tradition for world peace and prosperity under the auspices of the Brahamana Seva Samiti, according to its president B.V. Subba Rao and P. Ramachandramurthy.

Rendition of Andal’s ‘Thirupavai Pasuram’ in praise of Lord Vishnu stood as highlight.

Community feast

Govinda devotees from far and near including a large number of women witnessed the religious event with reverence and partook the community feast later, temple official G. Subbaiah Rao said.
