The 91st birth anniversary celebrations of Sathya Sai Baba took place in pomp and grandeur at the Sai Kulwant hall of the Prasanthi Nilayam in Puttaparthy town of the Anantapur district today, in the presence of thousands of devotees.

As is the practice, the celebrations were kicked off around 8 a.m. today with the percussion display by the students of the Sri Sathya Sai Instutue of Higher Learning (SSSIHL), playing to the tune of bhajans. It was followed by a carnatic composition and few songs praising Sathya Sai Baba. V. Srinivasan, trust member, said that Sathya Sai Baba spoke to the devotees in Prasanthi Nilayam directly and not through a 'via media'.
