: Religious fervour marked the maiden ‘Hanumantha Vahana Seva,’ performed with pomp and splendour at the Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple, here on Monday evening.

The event, as per the decision taken by TTD Trust Board, will be observed during Amavasya of every month, on the lines of Pournami Garuda Seva at Tirumala and Gaja Vahana Seva in Tiruchanur. According to Vaikhanasa Agama, five days are considered to be auspicious in vaishnava temples i.e., Pournami, Amavasya, Sukla Ekadasi, Krishna Ekadasi and Sravana/Punarvasu Nakshatram.

As Lord Hanuman is revered as the destroyer of evil powers the seva will be performed every month during Amavasya at the temple.
