The police busted a fake certificate racket by arresting N. Srinivasulu, the headmaster of a municipal elementary school at Parvathapuram in Adoni mandal, who is the kingpin, and 21 commission agents on Sunday. They are on the lookout for a computer operator, Kakani Anjaneyulu, Superintendent of Police Gopinath Jatti said on Sunday.

Police teams arrested the fake certificate gang members at the Adoni municipal grounds, on a complaint lodged by Valmiki Ramanna in Kowthalam police station, and seized fake rubber stamps and certificates from them, the SP said while producing the accused before the media here.

The headmaster, who was suspended twice and served prison sentences for defrauding the Kurnool District Cooperative Central Bank and Manappuram Gold, along with a computer operator Anjaneyulu, had been preparing fake rubber stamps, educational certificates, marks memos and university marks lists, study certificates and transfer certificates and selling the same for the last eight years by operating from a lodge in Kurnool town, Mr. Gopinath said.

Commission agents

They engaged commission agents to trap unemployed men and women, dropouts, uneducated drivers and sold the fake certificates to them by collecting between ₹1,000 to ₹20,000, the SP said.

The arrested were: Asadu Veeresh, Harijana Somalinga, Pamdala Ramesh, Talari Khasin, Madasula Somasekhar, Talari Mallikarjuna, Gosi Raj Kumar, Mala Nallanna, Mohammed Ali, Gopaldas Showri Babu, Shaik Jakeer, Kuruva Sunkanna, Ullinda Raju, Pinjari Jangili Saheb, Pallagummi Venkataramudu, Kanapuram Linganna, Kuruva Venkataramudu, Nagapuri Onesh, Vusolla Chandra Maddileti and Bonugula Satyanarayana, the SP said.

The SP lauded Adoni Taluk circle inspector Daivaprasad, Kowthalam sub-inspector Subramanyam Reddy, Yemmiganur Rural SI A. Venugopal and Peddathumbalam SI S. Hussain Basha and staff for arresting the accused. Adoni DSP Srinivasa Rao was present.
