Ensure good environment at home, parents told

March 15, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - SRIKAKULAM:

Personality development trainer and psychologist M. Satish on Saturday said parents should ensure a happy environment at home instead of forcing their children to gain ranks.

“Students could become good citizens only when they are trained in human relations, values and Indian culture,” he said.

Mr. Satish was participating as the chief guest at the ‘Art of Parenting’ programme organised by the Bhashyam Public School here on Saturday.

He said smooth talk and appreciation of their performance would make children good citizens.

“Parents should allow children to do things in their own way. It enhances their self-confidence. Unnecessary pressure will disappoint them,” he added.

“The role of money is just five per cent when it comes to happiness, and studies have proved it. Attitude and achievements give us real happiness. Parents can teach such things to children when they understand them properly,” he added.

Bhashyam Public School Zonal in-charge M. Satyam and principal S.K. Rehaman said the school was striving to ensure the overall development of students with the active support of parents.

Vice-principal Anil Kumar and headmistress Padma spoke on the occasion.
