Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday urged the voters to ensure a landslide victory for the party in the general elections to develop the residual State in all fronts.

Mr. Naidu, who took part in the TDP’s Praja Garjana programme here on Wednesday, urged people to teach a lesson to the AICC president Sonia Gandhi by defeating the Congress in the State.

“Telugu pride can be protected only if TDP rules the State,” he claimed while addressing the gathering during a rally in heart of the town. “People from all sections, especially the poor and middle classes, are eagerly waiting to vote for the TDP as they are fed up with the misadministration in the last 10 years,” he averred.

Strongly defending the party’s stand on the bifurcation issue, the TDP chief said that he wanted the government only to mete out justice to both Seemandhra and Telangana regions. He alleged that the YSRC had supported the division of the State.

“We sought equal justice to both regions. But, the Congress took unilateral decisions without paying heed to the plights of Seemandhra people. Other parties also played politics over the issue. Now, it is time voters should take right decision and allow the TDP to do justice to the people of Seemandhra,” he added.

Mr. Naidu urged people to defeat former Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao alleging that the latter had indulged in corrupt activities and grabbed granite lease illegally. He also criticised Union Minister of State for Communication and Technology Killi Kruparani for not taking initiative to protect the interests of Seemandhra.

Former Minister Satrucharla Vijayarama Raju, former MLA Duvvada Nagavali, former MLC Gorle Haribabu Naidu joined the Telugu Desam Party in the presence of Mr. Naidu. They assured to strive hard for the victory of the TDP in the district.

Review meet today

Mr. Naidu is scheduled to review the party’s position in the district on Thursday. He is likely to ask senior leaders to shun the differences and ensure victory in all the 10 Assembly constituencies.
