Engineer from Andhra Pradesh kidnapped in Assam

A 45-year-old engineer working in Chirang district of Assam has been kidnapped allegedly by Bodo militants, according to information received by the police here.

Bathula Ankamma Rao, employed by Bolineni Seenaiah Company, was executing a Power Grid Corporation project of laying power lines when the incident occurred.

This was stated by Parchur Sub-Inspector A. Srihari Rao who visited the engineer’s wife Vani, son and daughter, at Bedda Jagarlamudi village in Yaddannapudi mandal.

The engineer’s family was anxious as there was no telephone call from him for some time.

The engineer used to make a telephone call every evening.
