When contacted, Assistant Commissioner of Endowments E.V. Pushpavardhan said Prema Samajam was not under total control of the department but land lease it has given to Sai Priya Resorts is not valid. It is a fact that the department has taken possession of the land in the past.

Under Sec. 82 of the Act any such activity has to be carried out with government permission only and another violation is as per the Societies Act under which Prema Samajam is registered all its members have to hold a meeting and pass a resolution on an issue. These two did not happen.

Mr. Pushpavardhan asserted that no one can enter into the land which is under the possession of the department and if such a violation has occurred, he would certainly proceed against the violators. The land is also free from legal issues, he added.
