G. Sateesh Reddy, director, Research Centre Imarat, DRDO, was felicitated at a function organised by Dr. Bezawada Gopal Reddy Award Committee and Venkatagiri Rajah’s Kalasala Old Students’ Association at Town Hall here, amidst the presence of a large number of dignitaries in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP senior leader M. Venkaiah Naidu stressed the need for encouraging meritorious and talented young scientists like Sateesh Reddy to strengthen India in the field of science and technology further. He called for greater efforts to regain the past glory, as ancient India was known for making a plenty of discoveries and inventions.

Stating that reconstruction of the country should be our immediate priority, Mr. Naidu said that greater attention should be given to the development of research and science followed by the needs for food and economic security.

Mr. Naidu lauded Mr. Sateesh Reddy for achieving top laurels at a young age as a close follower of former president and missile scientist A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Union Minister of State for Petroleum Panabaka Lakshmi said that the young enthusiasts should follow the footsteps of outstanding scientists like Mr. Sateesh Reddy, who worked hard and rose to become the director of Research Centre Imarat, one among the top 54 wings of the DRDO.

Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said Mr. Sateesh Reddy’s achievement showed that there was a lot of young talent available in almost every field in the country, but sadly the political field was somewhat failing to attract such progressive individuals.
