Elaborate arrangements are being made for elections to Chittoor municipal corporation, and six municipalities of Madanapalle, Punganur, Palamaner, Nagari, Puttur and Srikalahasti, scheduled on Sunday.
The police administration has identified as many as 107 hyper-sensitive areas in the district, followed by 91 sensitive and 9 troublesome areas.
The police have laid special focus on Chittoor, Punganur and Nagari, which hold previous history of poll violence.
The CRPF personnel and special parties are deployed at all the polling centers on Saturday morning in order to instil confidence among the voters.
In all, over 3,000 police personnel are deployed for poll duties. Nine check posts were set up in the district exclusively to check flow of liquor and cash from outside.
