Efforts on to plug leak in ONGC pipeline

August 26, 2009 09:26 pm | Updated 09:26 pm IST - Pasarlapudi Lanka (East Godavari):

Leakage in an ONGC pipeline triggered panic in this village on Wednesday. Officials have closed the main line and taken up repairs on a war-footing. The land belonging to a farmer was spoiled due to the oil spill.

ONGC sources said the pipeline connecting the Konaseema and Vijjeswaram power plants developed a leak due to a technical snag.

ONGC officials were informed about the leakage by some farmers. An official committee will visit the village on Thursday to take stock of the situation and verify the cause for the leakage.
