Friends of the deceased mountaineer, Malli Masthan Babu, the Indian High Commission and the Andhra Pradesh government have initiated steps to bring his body to his native place, Sangam, in Nellore district in a day or two.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana has instructed district officials to receive the body that will be brought from Chile to Chennai in an Air India flight. District In-charge Collector Md. Imtiyaz has been directed to make arrangements for bringing the body to Sangam from Chennai. Babu’s last rites will be conducted at Gandhi Jana Sangham at Sangam.
Paying rich tributes to the summiteer, Mr. Narayana said Masthan Babu had pursued what he liked the most in his life and made the country proud on the world mountaineering scene.
