‘Eclipse effect’: CIs fail to turn up for new assignments

18 inspectors transferred in city late on Monday night

The much anticipated buzz at various police stations in the city was conspicuously missing on Tuesday, as many circle inspectors who have either been transferred or given new postings, seemed to have preferred not to take charge of their new assignments ahead of lunar eclipse on Wednesday.

Commissioner D. Gautam Sawang transferred 18 CIs in the commissionerate. The orders were issued late on Monday night. However, it is learnt that following the advice of astrologers and family elders, many officers decided not to join the new postings before or on ‘chandra grahanam’ day.

CI J. Murali Krishna, working in Traffic-II police station, was posted to Two Town police station. Y. Balaji was transferred to Bhavanipuram station and V. Pavan Kishore was posted to Ibrahimpatnam station, vice D. Chawan who was transferred to traffic police station.

Satyanarayanapuram CI M. Satyanarayana was transferred to Suryaraopet station. M.V. Durga Rao was shifted to Nunna and M.V.V. Jagan Mohan Rao was posted in Ajit Singh Nagar station.

Nunna CI Saherunnissa Begum was transferred to Machavaram station, while K. Uma Maheswara Rao was transferred to Patamata police station.

K. Shivaji, who was in Vacancy Reserve (VR), was transferred to Kankipadu station, vice K. Sridhar Kumar, who was shifted to Gannavaram police station.

K. Srinivasa Rao, working in Bhavanipuram station, was transferred to Cyber Crime. N.S.K.V. Durga Rao, working in Two Town was transferred to traffic station, G.V. Vinay Mohan from Suryaraopet station and G.V.V. Satyanarayana working in Vuyyuru station were kept in VR. B. Gunaram, who was in VR, was posted to Task Force.
