The State government has come up with an ambitious package that ensures a minimum ₹10,000 monthly wage to every family that has a woman in self-help groups, Minister for Information Technology and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh said here on Thursday.
Addressing a public meeting after taking part in the “Janmabhoomi-Maa Ooru” programme at Atthota village in Kollipara mandal of the Tenali Assembly constituency, Mr. Lokesh said the SHG members had already ₹6,000 deposited in their bank accounts, and the rest would be credited shortly.
He said 1,824 farmers in the village had benefited after the State government had waived off loans to the tune of ₹4.12 crore. “Each village has a 10-star ranking, and the parameters include power, road connectivity, toilets, dumping yard, education and health. We will provide all these amenities by January 2019.”
Roads
He said internal roads in the village had been laid including 5.4 km CC roads and 2.78 km BT road connecting to the main road and street lighting would be completed by this year end. Ministers for Civil Supplies and Social Welfare Prathipati Pulla Rao and N. Ananda Babu, Collector Kona Sasidhar later distributed saris and sweets to expectant mothers.
