DRDO Directors inspect missile research lab sites

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Directors C.V. Balaji and D.V.S.R. Murthy and Associate Director Sankar Rao on Wednesday inspected sites at Kalva, Palakolanu, Uyyalawada and N. Konthalapadu villages in Orvakal mandal in Kurnool district, which were allotted to DRDO for establishing a missile research laboratory.

Land acquisition was completed for the DRDO laboratory, District Collector Ch. Vijayamohan told the DRDO officials in a meeting in his chambers. The missile research laboratory required 2,989 acres of land and the government acquired 2,721 acres so far. The remaining extent of land was being acquired from farmers and completion of the process, it would be handed over to the DRDO, the Collector said.

Establishment of the missile research laboratory would facilitate research in technical warfare equipment.
