Division of State will hamper development, says Yanamala

December 23, 2013 12:04 pm | Updated 12:04 pm IST - Tirumala:

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and MLC Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Sunday categorically said that the division of the State would impede the development in the region.

Speaking to media persons after offering prayers at the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara, Ramakrishnudu said that it was saddening to note that the State which stood fifth after Maharastra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Gujarat in that order with regard to development, has plummeted to fifteenth position in the aftermath of the announcement of Telangana.

Coming down heavily on the GOMs decision he said that doing justice to one region does not imply that the other region should be subjected to injustice.

Plea to circumvent process

Further expressing his trepidation that the division will lead to the inclusion of the State to the catalogue of the smaller States he appealed to the ruling Congress to strive circumvent the division process.

‘Praying for justice’

In reply to a question the TDP leader said that he had prayed the deity to ensure justice to the people of both the regions.
