The Krishna district authorities have began an exercise to digitise documents and government records which speak volumes about the glorious history of the port town and the district since mid 18th Century.
Krishna District Collector Babu. A on Friday inspected the preservation status of the documents at the record room of the District Collectorate. Speaking to reporters, Mr. Babu said all documents dating back to 1759 would be digitized as a part of the adoption of e-office system.
“Digitisation of documents particularly dated back to 1860, 1894, 1920, 1964 and 1980 and will be completed soon. A proposed has been forwarded to the State government for preservation of heritage buildings in Machilipatnam,” Mr. Babu said.
The AP Technology Services wing will support the district authorities for digitisation of documents .
