As many as 16 entrepreneurs have come forward to set up micro, small and medium industrial units with an investment of ₹25 crore and an assurance of creating 525 jobs in East Godavari district during the International Micro, Small, Medium Entrepreneurs (MSME) Day celebrations held at the JNTUK Alumni Auditorium here on Wednesday.

The District Industries Centre has offered them various sops based on the nature of the industry and the socio-economic conditions of the entrepreneur.

Home Minister N. Chinnarajappa, who attended as chief guest of the programme, highlighted the need for more and more MSMEs coming forward from the district which had huge potential for industrial development.

“There is no dearth of land and water and the government is keen on developing infrastructure such as roads and ensuring uninterrupted power supply to all industries,” he said, advising the youngsters to make use of the prevailing conducive environment for industrial development and venture into the entrepreneurship.

Mr. Chinarajappa further said the State government was keen on attracting foreign investment and that was the reason why Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was visiting several foreign countries and taking part in the trade and business summits. He recalled that the State had achieved top position in ‘ease of doing business,’ which was the result of the hard work put in by the Chief Minister.

Energy resources

Amalapuram MP P. Ravindra Babu said the vast natural resources such as oil and natural gas would help accelerate the industrial growth, as the availability of energy resources would play a major role in the development of any nation.

He said the onshore and offshore explorations of oil and natural gas by various oil companies would help the nation self-sustainable on the energy front in the years to come.

Collector Kartikeya Misra said the district administration was working to establish at least one industrial park in each Assembly constituency and Mr. Chinnarajappa was supporting the cause.
