Devineni Uma to release Thotapalli waters to 30,000 acres today

Rural Development Minister Kimidi Mrunalini has said Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao would release water from the newly built barrage of Sardar Gowthu Latchanna Thotapalli Reservoir Project to Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts at Thotapalli in Garugubilli mandal in the district on Thursday.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Dr. Mrunalini said that water would be released to 30,000 more acres on Thursday and the total area to be covered under the project would be one lakh acres in both the districts. Works for releasing water to the remaining 20,000 acres by March 2017 were in progress, she added.
