Congress MLA of Kamalapuram G. Veerasiva Reddy announced his resignation from the Assembly in the proper format as well as from the primary membership of Congress on Thursday to pressurise the Congress high command against proposals to bifurcate the State.

Making the announcement in the Kadapa DCC office, he said he sent the resignation letters to APCC President Botcha Satyanarayana, “as the State was heading towards bifurcation”. Stressing the need for a unified State, he demanded Telugu Desam Party President N. Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress Honorary President Y.S. Vijayamma to quit the Assembly to prove their commitment to a united State.

Mr. Veerasiva Reddy accused the TDP, YSRC, CPI and CPI(M) of adopting double standards and not resisting the bifurcation moves, but blaming the Congress. Calling upon the Ministers and public representatives in Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra regions to tender resignations, he said it was high time to intensify the Samaikyandhra movement.

It may be recalled that YSRC MLAs G. Srikanth Reddy (Rayachoti) and K. Srinivasulu (Railway Kodur), Congress MLA of Badvel P.M. Kamalamma, Congress MLC Shaik Hussain, YSRC MLC C. Narayana Reddy and Rayalaseema West Teachers MLC B. Pullaiah had submitted their resignation letters to the Samaikyandhra movement, in support of a unified State.

No one can stop bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. Like we all say, all foxes for one bone. This resignations are all only for political benefits. So no one will care about it.
