Civil Supplies Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao has ridiculed YSR Congress Party leaders for trying to find excuses for their imminent defeat in the Kakinada Municipal Corporation election.
Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat on Wednesday, Mr. Pulla Rao said the TDP-BJP combine would win 38 to 40 seats. The YSR Congress Party would not get more than a single digit, he added.
The TDP would come to power in the civic body after a gap of 20 years, he added.
Realising that they would lose the election, the YSRCP leaders were levelling baseless allegations against the TDP. It was a desperate attempt to safe their face, he alleged. The people taught a fitting lesson to the YSRCP in the Nandyal byelection. YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy did not mend his ways and attitude despite being rejected by the people. He had no courtesy to thank those who voted for his party in Nandyal. Voters in Kakinada too would reject him without any second thought, the Minister said.
