Adventure seekers will soon experience a first-of-its-kind, 1.6-km-long zip line, giving a spectacular view of the Bay of Bengal as part of a unique adventure zone coming up at Kailasagiri, one of the top tourism spots in the region.

MoU signed

City-based firm Abhiram Nirman India Pvt. Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with A.P. Tourism Principal Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena on the inaugural day of the CII Partnership Summit here on Saturday.

The project cost is estimated to cost₹10 crore.

Sharing details with The Hindu , managing director of the company V. Srinivas said, “The zip line activity will have three routes starting from Kailasagiri with lengths of 333 metres, 740 metres, and 1.6 km. The longest route will have a zigzag path, which will take adventure seekers back to the base at Kailasagiri. This will be a unique adventure zip line route going along the coastline.”

15 activities

The project will include 15 adventure sports activities such as zip swing, parallel ropes, commando net, archery, paint ball arena, target shooting, rock climbing, rappelling, sky jump, Tarzan swing, sky ladder, and zoomering.

The project will be executed by the Dehradun-based adventure firm, Fear Vs Dare.

A team from the firm conducted a feasibility survey, which was submitted to the Tourism Department.

“We have sought 3,000 sq. metres of site at Kailasagiri for the adventure zone. Once we get the approval, it will be taken up in a phased manner. In the first phase, the zip line will be developed in six months time, followed by the adventure zone area. The project will give a big boost to tourism in Visakhapatnam and turn it into a top adventure sports hub,” said K. Sanyasi Rao, consultant of Abhiram Nirman India.

The zip line activity will start from the Titanic viewpoint at Kailasagiri and end at Children’s Park, opposite YMCA on the Beach Road.

Fear Vs Dare has completed 20 adventure parks across India with the support of zip line experts from Colorado, the U.S.

World-class facilities

“The zip line will have world-class safety features and standards, and will be the first one in the country located along a coastline offering a stunning sea view,” Mr. Rao added.

This will be the first tourism project for Abhiram Nirman India that has completed a series of residential complexes in the city.
