Green corridor in Hyderabad for heart transport

It took just 2 minutes and 45 seconds to bring the donor heart from Begumpet airport to Yashoda Hospitals Secunderabad. With precise coordination, the traffic authorities and police made sure that the ambulance had a freeway, as the emergency vehicle, with doctors inside, speeded with a donor heart of a 40-year-old male specially flown in from Bangalore.

Upon reaching the destination, the hospital heart transplant team led by surgeon Dr. Gokhale have started the process to transplant the donor heart on a 46 year old woman.

The donor heart, from a 40 year old male patient, was airlifted in a specially chartered flight and landed at Begumpet airport. All along the way, the donor heart was under the careful eyes of heart transplant surgeon Dr. A G K Gokhaley of Yashoda hospitals.

Officials are hoping for a successful result.
