Dacoits stike in Darsi in Prakasam district

A group of five dacoits struck at an isolated house on the outskirts of Darsi in Prakasam District in the wee hours of Friday and decamped with valuables valued at Rs. 3 lakh from the inmates.

The dacoits broke open main door of the house a local businessman with boulders on the Darsi-Addanki Road and forced the inmates to part with two gold chains, four gold rings and Rs 1.50 lakh in cash, Special Branch Deputy Superintendent of Police Rayapati Srinivas said.

A CLUES team was rushed to the spot as also a dog squad to collect evidences from the scene of offence, Darsi circle Inspector K. Ragavendra said. A special police team was constituted to nab the offenders on a complaint from A. Rangasamy, who dealt with value-added foods, he added.
