Activists of the Shantivanam Foundation, a socio-cultural organisation, led a cycle rally here on Sunday to impress upon the people to cut down on carbon dioxide emissions. Leading the rally to mark the World Environment Day, senior Civil Judge and District Legal Services Authority Secretary T. Raja Venkatadri said people should make cycling as part of their daily life and contribute their mite to the fight against climate change. It was imperative to remind members of GenX that fossil fuels would not last forever, he added.

“Cycling is a must to keep oneself hale and hearty and also protect the environment,” Foundation president K. Sudhakar said.

The rally was organised to create awareness on a healthy lifestyle, added its secretary Manchikanti.
