C.V. Rao tipped to be new Vice-Chancellor of NTRUHS

C.V. Rao has been selected to take over as Vice-Chancellor of Dr. NTR University of Health and Sciences (NRTUHS). He will take over from Dr. Ravi Raju.

After graduating in 1975 from RMC, Kakinada, Dr. C.V. Rao obtained PG qualification in General Surgery from Guntur Medical College, Guntur, in 1978. He later qualified the M.Ch in Plastic Surgery from Safdarjung hospital, New Delhi in 1981.

After having worked as Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at KMC- Kurnool, GMC-Guntur and RMC-Kakinada, he was elevated to the post of Professor of plastic surgery and posted to Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam. He worked as HoD, the department of Plastic Surgery at King George Hospital, before being posted as Principal, Andhra Medical College.

He also served as Director of Gitam Institute of Medical Sciences and Research and contributed to the formation the first Deemed University in medical sciences in A.P. Presently, he is working as Director of Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), at Visakhapatnam.
