December 02, 2014 03:00 am | Updated April 07, 2016 02:23 am IST - CHITTOOR:

Activists of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and its allied wings led by party State secretary P. Madhu on Monday stormed the District Collectorate building here and staged a protest, decrying the anti-poor policies of the Central and State governments.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Madhu said it was unfortunate that the TDP had ignored its poll promises. He accused the government of hoodwinking the public in the name of “creating a Singapore in the State”.

The CPM leader criticised the Centre’s move to link Aadhaar to benefit schemes meant for the poor. The protest ended following the intervention of Additional Joint Collector Venkata Subba Reddy. Armed police were deployed at the Collectorate.
