CPI (M) leader and MLA Tammineni Veerabhadram said that the second list for the LS and Assembly would be ready in a couple of days.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Mr. Veerabhadram said that the second list will have the names for another LS and 30 Assembly seats. The first list had names for three LS and 17 Assembly seats. The party is fielding B. Mallesh from Sangareddy and Vazid Ali from Patancheru Assembly segments in Medak district, he added. The CPI(M) leader asserted that the party was not under an impression that it would come to power in the elections but instead become a formidable force so as to ensure the political parties implement their election promises after formation of governments in the two States.

Expressing concern at the unfolding of new political scenarios in view of elections and fast changing political equations, he said that proposed alliances between TRS and Congress and TDP and BJP would not do any justice to both the States. Stating that Congress was responsible for the present mess, he wondered how it would benefit Telangana.

The Telugu Desam’s proposal for a poll tie-up with BJP is ridiculous. TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu had termed the party as non-secular in the past but is now ready to join hand with Narendra Modi only with an eye on the polls, he said.

The CPI(M) leader also wanted the Polavaram project design to be modified as the present design would submerge seven mandals of Khammam district that were in Seemandhra.

Contesting candidates Mallesh and Vazid were also present.
