CPI(M) nominee has a motorcycle, Rs. 1,000

Communist Party of India (M) candidate for the Ongole Assembly seat, G.V. Konda Reddy, has a motorcycle worth Rs. 26,500 and no immovable property of his own.

In an affidavit filed along with his nomination papers here on Thursday, Konda Reddy, the CPI(M) city secretary declared that he had Rs.1,000 in cash. His wife, a teacher in Mandal Praja Parishad School at Thuravagunta, however, owns moveable property worth Rs. 7.79 lakh, including insurance polices with a maturity value of Rs. 4.27 lakh. Her immovable properties are worth Rs. 10 lakh and she has a loan of Rs. 4.2 lakh to repay, as per the affidavit filed before Returning Officer M.S. Murali.

CPI(M) State executive member Y.Siddaiahaccompanied the candidate along with the party district secretary Jala Anjaiah.
