The Congress is inching towards firming up its alliance with the Communist Party of India though some minor issues still need to be ironed out. TPCC president Lakshmaiah continued his talks with CPI leader Narayana on Thursday to iron out sticky issues related to Husnabad Assembly, a seat held by the Congress which the CPI is keen to contest from.
While CPI wanted 10 assembly seats and Khammam Lok Sabha seat, Congress is in favour of restricting the number to seven and a formal announcement is expected , sources said.
