Court seeks Ramalinga Raju's response

July 05, 2010 10:56 pm | Updated November 08, 2016 01:25 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The special court dealing with Satyam Computers fraud has asked the counsel for the former company Chairman B. Ramalinga Raju to file an affidavit on Thursday whether the latter could be examined on the charges against him through a questionnaire in view of his prolonged hospitalisation.

The court also asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file a report on the present stage of investigation in the fraud.

The court emphasised that it could not compel the CBI to file the fourth charge sheet when the defence pleaded that the trial in the case was getting delayed due to failure of the investigating agency in filing the charge sheet.

The defence recalled that the CBI had offered to file the fourth charge sheet “shortly” in April but the agency was not in a position presently to even give a concrete word whether it would do so.
