Court asks State to talk to junior doctors

A division bench of A.P. High Court comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sen Gupta and Justice K.C. Bhanu on Monday lauded the junior doctors who called off their strike and joined duty. The bench directed the government to start negotiations with the doctors with an open mind. The case is adjourned to next week.

RTC buses

The division bench made it clear that the APSRTC buses which are causing immense pollution should be replaced in a phased manner within one year. The bench was dealing with a writ petition filed by Dr. Rama Mohan.

MLA case

In another case, the bench said that if any specific complaint was there against the MLA from Chirala, it should be lodged with the local officers who are statutory authorities empowered to deal with such complaints. The bench was closing a petition filed by Jaya Vindhyala of PUCL A.P. unit. The petitioner contended that the MLA was terrorising the people.

Notices issued

The bench also issued notices to the recognised national parties and regional parties of A.P. in the petition filed seeking direction to control candidates from contesting from several constituencies in the same election. The bench was dealing with a petition filed by Venu Gopal Reddy who said the practice led to immense loss to the exchequer. The bench adjourned the matter.
