Couple killed in road accident in Peddapuram

A couple died in a road accident that took place near Peddapuram on ADB Road on Thursday. The accident took place in the morning, in which Kunnampalli Nageswara Rao, 45, and his wife Leelaveni, 40, were killed on the spot when the car in which they were travelling hit a tree on the roadside.

Rao and Leelaveni, along with their son Saikrishna, were on return journey to their native Rayudupalem village near Pithapuram in their car, after attending a marriage at Rangampeta. When the speeding car hit a tree on the roadside, the couple died on the spot and Saikrishna escaped with injuries.

He was rushed to the Government General Hospital in Kakinada for treatment, where the doctors said he was out of danger. The bodies were sent for post-mortem. A case was registered and investigation was on by the Peddapuram police.
