Countdown for PSLV C33 begins

The countdown for the launch of PSLV C33 began at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) at Sriharikota here on Tuesday at 9.20 a.m.

The integration of the rocket on the launch pad and the propellant filling operations will be taken up at different stages during the 51.30-hours countdown.

The PSLV C33 will be launched on April 28 at 12.50 p.m.

In the present launch, the PSLV will carry the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System, IRNSS – 1G, into the orbit.

The IRNSS 1G is the seventh and final satellite in the series, which will make the Indian navigation system complete and ready for use.

The IRNSS is expected to provide position accuracy of better than 20 m over Indian region and also an area extending up to 1,500 sq km around India.
