Corrupt Ministers go scot-free: TDP

October 29, 2012 01:07 am | Updated June 24, 2016 04:38 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The Telugu Desam Party has criticised the Congress for not taking action against Union Ministers who are allegedly involved in corruption and scams.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, senior TDP leader Dadi Veerabhadra Rao said the ruling party had rewarded some tainted leaders with plum posts in the Union Cabinet reshuffle instead of acting against them as well as those who were already in the Cabinet.

There was no use with such reshuffles without changing the Prime Minister as it was he who was behind all scams that had taken place in the country in the recent years, the TDP leader alleged. Besides, the reshuffle had clearly indicated that the Congress high command would not tolerate voices both in favour of Telangana and united Andhra Pradesh.

By not including the leaders who were in the forefront of the two movements the Congress leadership had proved again that it was not ready to make its stand clear on the two issues. “The message is quite clear that such voices should fall silent or else they will get the axe,” Mr. Veerabhadra Rao noted.
