Telugu Desam party president N. Chandrababu Naidu was ridiculed by the Congress and YSR Congress leaders for declaring that he possessed meagre assets.

Congress party made light of the declaration saying that the former Chief Minister was trying to derive political mileage of such exercise ahead of his ambitious padayatra. Congress MLC K.R. Amos said if Mr. Naidu was a really committed politician, he should first get vacated the stay given by the AP High Court into the disproportionate assets case filed by the ACB. “Instead of trying to mislead the people by claiming to be a clean politician, Mr. Naidu’s image would be enhanced if he boldly faces the ACB case and proves his innocence,” he said.

Minister for Primary Education S. Sailajanath said asset declaration was also part of series of declarations made by the TDP chief on various issues. YSR Congress spokesperson Jupudi Prabhakar Rao questioned the veracity of the assets declared by Mr. Naidu. “The data is a bundle of lies and contradicts his previous versions,” he told reporters here.
