Having dissociated themselves from the Joint Action Committee (JAC), Congress leaders from Telangana have decided to take up mass programmes in support of the statehood issue.

District Congress Committee presidents will take the initiative to rope in all the senior leaders and chalk out programmes.

This was decided at a meeting of Telangana DCC presidents which was held in the chambers of the Civil Supplies Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Wednesday night.

The meeting decided to organise a meeting of DCC office-bearers, Zilla Parishad chiefs, local civic and local bodies elected representatives in Hyderabad tentatively on February 23.
