The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has decided to contribute its mite to improve the percentage of polling in the current general elections. As a novel initiative, it appealed to its member doctors to extend a concession of 25 per cent in consultation fee to those who exercise their franchise. The offer will be in force for a month and the patients can avail themselves of it by showing the indelible mark made on one of their fingers by the polling personnel as a proof of their participation in the polling, according to Ch. Srinivasa Rao, chairman of the IMA West Godavari District Branch.
