The State government, despite the current financial burden, is completely committed to the employees’ welfare and developmental activities, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has said.

Addressing the the inaugural session of the 20th APNGOs Association council meeting here on Friday, Mr. Ramakrishnudu said the government was spending 94% of its own tax revenue towards the salaries and pensions of the employees and the remaining on other developmental activities.

“We are and will always be an employee-friendly government, and will not compromise on the employees’ welfare. Since bifurcation, the State’s finances have been difficult, but we will ensure that no employee is neglected. We will fulfil their demands,” he said.

Thanking the employees for their cooperation and understanding the financial situation, Mr. Ramakrishnudu said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who would be taking part in the valedictory, would throw light on some of the important decisions.

PRC arrears

“We have already received 33 lakh grievances during the ‘Intintiki Telugu Desam’ programme, and will ensure steps to address them. We are also positive on the 10th PRC arrears and clearance of DA instalments, based on the financial situation,” Mr. Ramakrishnudu added.

With respect to regularisation of contract and outsourcing employees, Mr. Ramakrishnudu said it would not be possible, but there would surely be an increase in salaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Home Minister N. Chinnarajappa sought the employees’ support for the development of the State.

APNGOs president P. Ashok Babu urged the government to considered the appointments being made on contract basis and fill vacancies in Secretariat and across the 13 districts of the State.

He opposed the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and called for constitution of the 11th PRC so as to receive a report by July 1, 2018.
