: East Godavari Collector H. Arun Kumar on Tuesday announced the list of 20 sand ramps from where people can take sand without paying anything to the government except loading, transportation and maintenance charges.
Addressing a meeting of sand ramps maintenance committees in Kakinada, the Collector said that the district administration would take stringent action on people who violate the rules and collect over and above the amount fixed by the committee set up by him.
He said that the prices were fixed depending on the availability of sand in different areas.
Rajamahendravaram, Alamuru, Seethanagaram and Kakinada mandals and Amalapuram, Mandapalli, Veerapalli lanka are among the ramps permitted by the administration.
