Coastal Andhra and Telangana regions receive widespread rain

Coastal Andhra and Telangana regions received widespread rains on Tuesday following a partial revival of the monsoon.

Active

The south-west monsoon turned active over Telangana, resulting in several places in this region receiving moderate to heavy rainfall.

Parkal and Shadnagar reported 7 cm each during the 24-hour period ending 8.30 am Tuesday and Hakimpet and Hyderabad 5 cm and 3 cm respectively.

Highest rainfall

In Coastal Andhra, Nandigama reported the highest rainfall of 7 cm.

More than 50 other places in Coastal Andhra and Telangana recorded 3 to 4 cm of rain while there was isolated rainfall in Rayalaseema.

Full revival

An official in the State Met Office said the monsoon might take some more days for full revival.

A forecast said there would be light to moderate rains in the State on Wednesday.
