CM to inaugurate tourism complex

Naidu will also lay foundation stone for ropeway project at Kotappakonda

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate a tourism complex on the foothills of Kotappakonda, lay the foundation stone for a ropeway project to Sri Koteswara Swamy temple and the JNTU-K campus at Kakani village during his visit to Narsaraopet on Saturday.

Mr. Naidu is scheduled to arrive at Kotappakonda by a helicopter at 10.30 a.m. and inaugurate the tourism complex and later unveil a plaque of foundation of the ropeway project. He will later visit the Eco Park atop the shrine.

JNTU campus at Kakani

The Chief Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the JNTU-Kakinada campus at Kakani village and address a public meeting.

Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao is supervising the arrangements. Mr. Siva Prasad Rao, a five-time MLA from Narsaraopet, has initiated developmental works at Kotappakonda and over the years made it a popular destination. Dr. Rao is credited with laying of a ghat road to the hill shrine, setting up of a mini zoo, Eco Park and now his pet project, the ropeway.

In charge Collector Munga Venkateswara Rao and Superintendent of Police, Guntur Rural, Ch. Venkat Appalanaidu have supervised the arrangements for the CM’s visit. Over 1,000 policemen are expected to man the area.
