The internal politics of ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh hotted up on Wednesday as several leaders, including those opposed to Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, held confabulations apparently over the issue of Chief Ministership.
Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, MP and son of late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, continued to receive a number of senior leaders including ministers.
Ministers P Laxmaiah, D Nagender, Sunita Laxmareddy, wife of late N T Rama Rao and Lakshmi Parvathi, were among those who called on Jagan on Wednesday.
Senior Congress legislator A Vivekananda Reddy, a known supporter of Jagan, said the issue of leadership is not postponed and that the party high command would take a decision at an appropriate time.
Meanwhile, a number of senior leaders, considered to be against making Y S Jagan as Chief Minister, had a meeting at the residence of former minister and senior legislator J C Diwakar Reddy in the breakfast.
Mr. Diwakar Reddy, however, said the meeting had no political significance and it was purely an informal affair.
Other leaders, who were present at the get-together, too maitained that there was no political significance whatsoever to the meeting.
The AICC leadership has made it amply clear on several occasions that Mr. Rosaiah would continue as Chief Minister and that there is no immediate plan to alter the arrangement.
