Club raided, 29 arrested

Police raided a club in Kadapa and arrested 29 persons on charges of gambling and seized 26 cell phones and Rs. 2.35 lakh from them.

Police personnel, led by Kadapa DSP E.G. Ashok Kumar, One Town Circle Inspector Ramesh and Sub-Inspector Ranganayakulu, raided the club on a tip-off that members were indulging in gambling in violation of court orders. The accused were taken to One Town police station and released on personal surety, Mr. Ramesh said. Raids will be conducted on other clubs in the town as well, he added.
