September 24, 2016 12:00 am | Updated November 01, 2016 08:40 pm IST - KAKINADA:

ACB sleuths on Friday raided the office of the Civil Supplies Department here and caught red-handed M.J.K. Rajkumar, assistant manager (general), while accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000 from the kin of a contractor.

Vytla Venkata Rao of Penikeru in Alamuru mandal was waiting for the work order to operate a vehicle for the Civil Supplies Corporation from the mandal-level stockist point in Mandapeta to Kapileswarapuram and Alamuru mandals for his son Tirumala Rao. Though the tender was finalised online in the first week of September, he was unable to get the work order. DSP Ramachandra Rao said that Rajkumar allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 30,000 to release the work order. Venkata Rao brought the issue to the notice of the ACB and the accused was trapped.
