CITU burns effigy of NDA govt.

March 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - ONGOLE:

Terming the Union Budget an ‘anti-people’ one, activists of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) burnt the effigy of the Narendra Modi-led Central Government here on Thursday

The activists came in procession to the busy Church Centre and shouted slogans against the NDA government, accusing it of adapting ‘corporate-friendly policies’ and not extending financial support to the cash-strapped public sector units.

“The budget has nothing to offer to the working class,” alleged CITU city secretary B. Venkat Rao, before the activists set the effigy of the NDA government afire. The activists also pressed for Special Category status to AP.
