As part of creating a congenial atmosphere for entrepreneurs, the Chittoor district administration has mooted quick processing of applications and permissions for setting up new industries.
Addressing the district industries promotion committee (DIPC) meeting here, district collector Siddarth Jain instructed the officials of the industries wing to this extent. He held discussions on the applications received for setting up new industrial units and the proposals of the Roads and Buildings department to create growth corridor in the district.
Siddarth Jain said that still 19 applications were pending regarding grant of permits for new industries. He directed the officials to promptly clear them and grant permissions. He said that the proposal for the growth corridor at a cost of Rs. 61 crores will boost the transportation system in the district, which in turn would galvanize the industrial sector. He said the growth corridor envisaged expansion of roads from Sri City near Varadaiahpalem to Satyavedu; and from Satyavedu to Chittoor via Puttur. This project will result in creation of a friendly ambience for setting up of industries, he observed.
The Collector said that the full-fledged use of the four roads – from Mannavaram industrial zone to Srikalahasti; Vampalle to Yerpedu; Srikalahasti to Tada in Nellore district; and from Buchi Naidu Kandriga to Sullurpeta – will further provide fillip to industrial sector in the district, besides increasing the connectivity with Chennai and Bangalore.
