Chiru, 7 other ministers facing criminal charges: Forum for Good Governance

Union Minister Chiranjeevi and seven other ministers from the State are facing criminal charges in various cases, representatives of Forum for Good Governance in Hyderabad charged on Saturday.

The forum said that the State Ministers Sridhar Babu, Vatti Vasanta Kumar, C. Ramachandraiah and P. Balaraju are also facing one case each, Danam Nagender and Uttam Kumar Reddy have two cases against their names while Ganta Srinivas Rao is facing four cases. It said that Chiranjeevi was facing three cases registered against him at different police stations.

Apart from the ministers, a total of 154 criminal cases are pending against 54 MLAs, 27 cases against eight MPs and 10 criminal cases are pending against five MLCs, forum secretary M. Padmanabha Raddy said. The forum has also submitted a memorandum to DGP V. Dinesh Reddy requesting him to speed up the probe.
